Best 3 DIY Egg Face Masks

Happy Fry-day everyone! I’m so egg-cited with share about the wonders of EGG! There are so many different kinds of face masks you can make with eggs! Today, I’ll be sharing 3 DIY mask recipes that are my personal favourites to do at home because they’re super duper quick & easy to make with minimal ingredients that you’d usually find in your kitchen, but still give you amazing results!

  1. Honey Lemon Egg White Mask 
  2. Pure Egg Yolk Mask 
  3. Turmeric Orange Egg Mask

1. Honey Lemon Egg White Mask

For normal skin, acne-fighting, toning & tightening

 

 

THE BENEFITS

If you’re looking for a mask to help you achieve blemish-free skin, this is the mask for you! Suitable for oily, acne-prone to normal skin. Egg whites are great for toning and tightening your skin. When applied on your face, the egg whites work by shrinking and tightening large pores, you’ll actually be able to feel the tightening sensation and even feel your face pulsate!

Closing your large pores in turn, reduces excess sebum which also means lessening the amount of potential bacteria breeding grounds in your pores that cause nasty breakouts, bulbous zits, cysts, etc… Overall, this mask will help fight future acne and also fade existing acne scars.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  1. Egg Whites — of 1 Egg
    Helps to tighten and shrink pores. Also boosts skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
  2. Raw Honey — ½ Tablespoon
    Contains antibacterial properties, healing, and helps to draw & lock moisture in your skin.
  3. Lemon Juice — ½ Tablespoon
     A powerful astringent that fights off acne-causing bacteria. Brightens skin and lightens dark spots remaining from old acne and hyper-pigmentation.

 

WHAT TO DO

  • Separate an egg and put egg whites in a mixing bowl.
  • In the same mixing bowl, add in ½ tablespoon of raw honey and ½ tablespoon of lemon juice.
  • Mix all 3 ingredients well with a fork or whisk till foamy (1~2 minutes).
  • Wash and cleanse your face and dry completely.
  • Using your fingers or a brush to apply and spread mask mixture over your entire face avoiding your eye area.
  • Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes.
  • When you feel the mixture has completely dried on your face, gently wash off with warm water. Pat dry with a towel and be amazed by the smooth & tight feel of your skin!

2. Egg Yolk Mask

Healing & nourishing 

THE BENEFITS

Egg yolks can be surprisingly beneficial and useful for your skin! Egg yolks contain nutrients that work to hydrate, nourish and moisturise dull skin. Since egg yolks are made up of mostly water and fats. Thus making it great at locking moisture into your skin cells… leaving your skin supple, smooth and extra soft!

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  1. Egg Yolk — of 1 Egg
    Hydrate, nourish, & moisturise dull skin.

 

HOW TO USE

  • Separate an egg and put egg yolk in a bowl.
  • In the bowl, whisk the egg yolk till slightly foamy (~1 minute).
  • Wash and cleanse your face and dry completely.
  • Gentle spread and coat your face mask mixture over your entire face avoiding your eye area.
  • Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes. s well as a brighter yellow tone to the egg mask.
  • Once the mask completely dried on your face (it will usually dry a lighter shade of yellow), wash off with warm water.
  • Pat dry with a towel.

3. Turmeric Orange Face Mask

Brightening

THE BENEFITS

This Turmeric Orange face masks is a popular choice for those who are looking for something to help boost your skin’s radiance. The skin-brightening properties found in turmeric powder and orange juice will leave your skin revitalised with a healthy glow. Not only is this mask super brightening, the egg whites are also an acne-fighting ingredient. Moreover, vitamin C and antioxidants found in oranges aid your skin to form collagen and elastin which will slow down the production of wrinkles, stop premature aging and keep your skin looking young!

NOTE: Be extra careful when making this mask, I’d recommend even wearing a shirt that you don’t mind getting stained or dirty because if you’re a lil’ bit of a klutz like me and are prone to mini accidents… turmeric stains are tough to remove!

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  1. Egg Whites — of 1 Egg
    Helps to tighten and shrink pores. Also boosts skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
  2. Orange Juice — 1 Teaspoon
     Tone and brighten complexion.  
  3. Turmeric Powder — 1 Teaspoon
     Helps to reduces and lighten dark spots caused by acne/hyper-pigmentation and evens out skin discolorations.

 

HOW TO USE

  • Separate an egg and put egg whites in a mixing bowl.
  • In the same mixing bowl, add in 1 teaspoon of orange juice and 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
  • Mix all 3 ingredients well with a fork or whisk till foamy (1~2 minutes).
  • Wash and cleanse your face and dry completely.
  • Using your fingers or a brush to apply and spread mask mixture over your entire face avoiding your eye area.
  • Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes.
  • When you feel the mixture has completely dried on your face, gently wash off with warm water.
  • Pat dry with a towel.

For such simple recipes, isn’t it amazing how packed they are with skin benefits? There are so many endless combinations and types of face (and even hair) masks that incorporate eggs… and they all target different kinds of skin problems! Some other ingredients you can substitute into the recipes are coconut oil, yogurt, oats, avocado, and more! You just have to be adventurous!
